Baptism 1803 - BURGESS
« on: Monday 07 March 11 12:16 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I am looking for the baptism of James Burgess c1803.

James married in Overton in 1833. He was buried in Overton 22nd July 1835 age 32.

I know there is not a James Burgess baptism c1803 in Overton. There was a baptism for James Burgess in 1807 Overton but he died 1807.

Thank you in advance

There is one in Whitchurch 16 Jun 1799, son of William & Sarah.  Also one in Micheldever in 1806, son of Thomas & Ann.  Another in 1805 in Millbrook, but I think that may be too far away.

His age at death could well be wrong.  Another possibility is that he was not born in Hampshire.

Hello Nell

Thanks for your help.

I have seen those baptisms you gave me. I discounted them as they are 3 or 4 years before or after 1803. Yes the age at death could be wrong.

I notice there are some parishes in North Hampshire not covered on the IGI such as Laverstoke, Freefolk, Popham, Eccinswell etc. Perhaps he was baptised in a parish not covered on the IGI  ?
