if anyone is interested, I am descended from the cadles and have info on this family going back to 1541. ( got stuck here ). will gladly pass on any info you may require.I'm new to here, so this may be old hat now. sorry if it is.

Hi Stephen,

welcome to Rootschat. Getting back to 1541 is very impressive. I only wish I was researching the Cadle family.

Hi Stephen,

There was an article in the local newspaper a few weeks back re the Cadle's.
Someone had found some paperwork in an attic and, if I remember correctly, most was deposited in the Gloucester Record Office.

I was brought up in a house that was at one time part of the Cadle estate!

very interesting, susan,I new my ancesters were reasonably well off, but owners of an estate? beyond belief. just my luck my greatgrandfather married the family cook and was disinherited
