Tabernacle Chapel Carmarthen help please

Hi,
 can anyone tell me where this church is/was
My G/Grandparents were married in 1881 at the Tabernacle Chapel in Carmarthen.
Mr G/G was Daniel Jones farm labourer Father John Jones father deceased,G/Grandmother Ann Thomas father Thomas Thomas deceased, both resident in Llandefeilog.
Witnesses were William Gravell  and Mary Jones. I wonder if William Gravell has a connection to Ray Gravell the rugby player.
I have just noticed that it says Baptist Chapel. I have  searched for ages trying to find it without any luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

it is still there so if you google map you should be able to see it.

as the link is kidwelly in your family links, then you could email gravells, they own a very large car showroom in kidwelly.

Carmarthen is one of the oldest towns in Wales and has a colourful history. In 1849 there were 11,000 inhabitants, twice the population as at the start of the Century. For info from 1849 see Carmarthen - Carmarthenshire', A Topographical Dictionary of Wales (1849), pages 180-202.

It was the most important market town in West Wales and the centre of the tanning industry, and shoe and hat manufacture. Tinplate, an iron foundry, a paper mill, as well as 3 banks meant the town was prosperous. However there was still poverty, poor sanitation, over-crowding, and disease.

In the first half of the nineteenth century, eleven Churches and Chapels were built in the town. Carmarthen had a gaol and its own police force with 12 policemen who also acted as the local fire service for many years!

Carmarthen was by no means a quiet village! Even Llandyfaelog had a population of over 1300 in 1844. Interesting that they married in Carmarthen town.

In 1881 there were 15 males called William Gravell in Carmarthenshire, 11 of them in Kidwelly district

It is still a common surname, nearly every primary school in the town has a gravell as a teacher!!

There was a fuss a few yrs back about graves being destroyed but can't confirm if it was definitley this chapel - but I do recall reading it in the Carmarthen Journal.
