This would make his birth date c.1786
In the 1851 census his birthplace is shown as Portsea, Hants.
On the marriage cert to his second wife Amelia POOLE in 1854 his father is recorded as William SHUTE, Solicitor.
Any help in finding his birth c.1786 or further information on his father (the solicitor) would be appreciated.
