kinsilla birth
« on: Thursday 17 March 11 12:32 GMT (UK) »
I am researching Mary kinsella B 1832  She lists her mothers surname as Ann hochtral Wicklow and Father John
I cannot find a birth for Mary with these parents. Help please

Mary was an Irish orphan who came to Australia aboard the New Liverpool in 1849.
What poor law records records are available.

Would Mary  have to have come from a poor law institution to have been an irish orphan?

Mary's birth is well before the start of civil records and unfortunately you need to know where in Co. Wicklow Mary was born so you can check the availability of church records for the parish she lived in. Not all Wicklow parishes have records back to the 1830s.

Were your Kinsella family Catholic ?

Never heard of the surname Hochtral ... is this clear on the records you have ?
