Inn keeper in Swansea
« on: Thursday 17 March 11 17:52 GMT (UK) »
My grandfather's brother Simon James and his wife Ann Ungoed (both passed away now)  lived at 58, Bond Street, Swansea in 1911, and Simon said he was a "licence victullar" (inn keeper I believe).

How do find out the name of the Inn that he worked in Swansea? Any ideas please. :D

I know of "The Clarendon" which used to be on Bond Street - I'll check my book of old Swansea pubs and see if I can find any others.  :)

Thank you both for your help. Sorry I missed it on the census will have to change my glasses (only yesterday did I start to download the 1911 originals census forms, more on them then I expected). Will have to look closer now.

If you see a photo of the hotel let me know please. :D

By the way, Swansea is in Glamorganshire not Carmarthenshire - in case this thread confuses anyone!  ;D

Moderator Comment: Moved to Glamorganshire  :)
