gillam /Duns tew
« on: Friday 18 March 11 10:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for infomation on the gillam family from Duns Tew,
my GG Granddad his name is Edward Gillam c1846 d1911 (i think married to eliza Maltby)
i know his name is edward as he is on his sons (arthur gillam/ada phillips) marriage certificate listed as a railway worker, also listed as deseased..
but i am unable to find much infomation on his younger days,, on the 1951 census he is on the same household schedule number as a daniel gillam and charlotte gillam, but unable to check if he is their son or just a visitor.. any help gratefully recieved. :) :)

hi billy
i didnt get hold of it, what i did was to go to ancestry.co.uk put a search in for edward gillam, birth, place ect.. it came up with his name on the 1851 census.
so remembering the household schedule number, i changed the search info to just ,gillam, place,(duns tew) and just searched the 1851 census.. there i found the ones with the same household schedule number... doesnt really prove relationships though!! i'm prob completely wrong  ;D

I think what Billy meant was that you mistakenly put 1951 in your first post  ;)

The possible marriage you mentioned is June qtr of 1870 - can anyone find them on the 1871 census??

i think they are in bakewell then, then northampton in 1891.. i cant find them on the 1881, could very well be a spelling mistake on that one...  thank you for your help on the census, i'm pretty sure it must be the right edward now, i will  order his marriage cert now to find out. thanks again
