Query regarding Suffolk inventory

Hi, l have the inventory of my 8th ggrandfather, Clement Salisbury dated 1682, it lists all his goods and at the bottom there is a brief sentance in latin saying that the estate would go to his wife Ann, l have enquired at Bury St Edmunds record office to see if there is a will lodged there? but unfortunately they have nothing other than the inventory, my question is, would there necessarily be a will and if so where would l find a copy?

If anyone can help or offer some guidance l would be extremely grateful.

you could try the national archives they have access to wills and such google national archives documents online on the home page click on wills and follow it from there .
what area exactly was he from bury itself or surrounding district only it,s worth seeing how the district admin areas have changed from way back then to now

Hi Trevor, thanks for the advice, Clement Salisbury was born in Barrow, Suffolk and died in Fornham St Martin in 1682.
