FRINGFORD, 1829
« on: Saturday 19 March 11 23:02 GMT (UK) »
I believe that my ggg grandparents died within days of each other in 1829Fringford. There names were Thomas and Abigail Gee. ??? Was there a cholera epidemic or some other disease at that time? Also, if anyone has information of any kind about the family, I would appreciate learning more. Thomas was a shepherd.

I think there is a bit of confusion with Thomas & Abigail Gee.

Burial - Thomas Gee - 11 Nov 1821. aged 53.  Fringford.

Burial - Abigail Gee(Jnr) - 8 Jan 1821.  aged 9.  Fringford.

Baptism - Abigail Gee(Jnr.) - 31 Mar 1811.  Daughter of Thomas & Abigail Gee.  Born 24th March.*

And  burial for Abigail Gee (Snr.)  as mentioned in previous post.

Children born to Thomas & Abigail.  Baptism years as follows.(More information you requested).

Sarah 1799.
Martha 1801.
Ann 1804.
Richard 1806.
Thomas 1808.
Abigail 1811. *
Lydia 1813.
William 1816.

There doesn't appear to be a marriage in Oxfordshire, for Thomas & Abigail.

Hope this helps.

Steve. :)

Apologies to all correspondents for the late reply - I have been searching in the wrong place for the reply button. The information I had on the Gee family was provided by a person some years ago and I accepted it as gospel however as my ability increased, I became pedantic about accuracy and found that all was not as it seemed and unless I had definite proof of identity, I put it aside until I could verify the details. I know there was another Gee family in the district living at Chipping Norton but do not know how or if they were related. The Fringford parish records do not appear to be on line so unless one of you kind people live in the area, I will try the volunteer research people to see what they can find. From the information I have, death was a regular visitor to this family. Thankyou all for your input. Marleen

So does this mean, that the info I gave you is no good.   Perhaps I misunderstood your needs.  Sorry. :(

Hi Marleen,

As this forum is not actually 'live', as in a chat room.  You have to refresh the page.  Also, if I'm not mistaken, you need to make 3 or 4 moderated posts or threads to gain easier access.  Perhaps someone else can confirm this.
