Hungarian ancestors: CZAUPPER-WANAUS
« on: Monday 21 March 11 21:05 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for my Hungarian ancestors, mainly my grandparents and great grandparents. They were all Roman Catholics.

My grandmother’s name was MARIA JOZEFA CZAUPPER , but they called her IRMA.  She was born Feb. 16, 1888 in Budapest and died sometime in Jan. 1977 also in Budapest. Her parents were SANDOR CZAUPPER,   born Feb. 14, 1863 in Budapest and LEOPOLDINA CSAPKOVICS,   born Oct. 9, 1865, place unknown, but I believe she is of Russian descent.  Do not know when and where they married, or when they died. Besides my grandmother, they had two other daughters and two sons.

At some point, my grandmother IRMA, married FERENC WANAUS. My grandfather was born April 5, 1879, place unknown, but I believe he is from Austrian descent. He died sometime in 1932 in Budapest. He owned a photo shop on Vacsi ut. I think he had three other brothers. Their  father’s name was ANTON WANAUS, born ca 1841. They were all in the photo shop business. Do not know who ANTON WANAUS was married to.

Cheers,
Dunlata

Hi Roy G.

Many thanks for your help. I was aware of an Imre but was unaware how he was connected to the family. It was interesting to note where you came across the name in your research.
Thanks again.
