17th regiment of foot 1815ish-1850

looking for Corporal Jenkins who was born 1800ish and died 1851ish. Think he came from Chatham, Kent, UK but haven't managed to track him down yet. he did serve with the royal leicestershire/17th regiment of foot. Please can anyone help me out?

i,ve looked in service /pension records for him and haven,t found anything going by your time line do you have a first name for him and i,lll have another look just in case i,ve missed him only there are  761 records for jenkins in total .

have got him down as a Samuel Jenkins - think we got that and the army details from his daughter's marriage certificate. I do find it strange that I can't track him down anywhere and his daughter only as of 1841 when she appears in the census in Thurnby Leicestershire (Billesdon district)

well i,m afraid i can,t find anything he,s not in the service /pension records tried 1841 cen and the 1851cen and nothing looked pos have looked in the parish births on ancestry and there is a john palmer jenkins born 1795 chatham so at least you know the name is around the area at that time , i,m wondering if it would pay you to post a look up on the kent sec for any of the names and dates you,ve got as there may well be someone on there with a lot more knowledge of the area to help you as you really need a parish look up .
