COMPLETED Thanks - 1871 census look-up
« on: Sunday 27 March 11 18:42 BST (UK) »
Hello All,

I've been browsing the free census index access and think I've found a missing person  :)

I'm looking for James Cruddace born 1825 at Bishopton, Durham. An unmarried joiner. I came across a James Curtis born c1826 at Bishopston, Durham, living in Bradford, Yorks. and listed as  Boarder Daur  ???

I'd be grateful if someone could check him out to see if he is a possible.

Regards,
Colin

Hi KB, thanks for the quick check. Is there anything odd about his relationship to head?

Hi Colin

I think the transcriber got in a tangle with the use of 'Do'

Previous lines are

Jane Ellen    Simpson  Boarder      Unm
Martha E         Do          Do  Dau
Clara              Do           Do  Do
James Curtis                  Do          Unm

So James was just a Boarder   :)

Many thanks Keyboard86 and Linda. I think he is a fair bet for my James but I have no idea why he was in Bradford, prior to that he was in Bishopton and afterwards was at Hartlepool. Another little mystery that will never be answered  ;)

Thanks again to you both,
Colin
