Hepper

Hi it is me again, researching my family tree, I am giving the Willmotts a rest and have now gone to my fathers side, stumbling block again, my grandfather Charles Powling married a Agnes Blanche Hepper, I have her date of birth and when she died but seem to stumble over who her parents were as I cannot seem to find any census about them. I know her father was John as it is on the marriage certificate. I have found a Hepper John  who married a Sarah Ann Hollaway. The problem is I cannot find any other Heppers apart from this family, he came from Germany originally and she was from Lambeth. How do I find out that I am not on the wrong route??

Agnes Blanche Hepper b. Apr-Jun, 1878, Kings Norton, 6c,448a.

She married Charles Powling, 27 Sept, 1902, St. Andrews, Newington;
Charles was 29, bach, Treaveller, his father was Joseph (dec), Japanner.
Agnes was 24, spin, her father was John (dec), Engraver.

John Hepper b.1806 married Sarah Towell 3/6/1827/St.Lawrence's Exeter.
1 birth listed:John Hepper Ch.11/4/1800/Tiverton/Fa.john/Ma.Susanna.Age is a bit out but?

I can't see any German connection for Agnes 

Looking at the censuses and BMD's, I think her parents were John Pittman Hepper, Engraver, b. <1840> Exeter and Louisa Woollcott , b <1842>, Exeter.

John Pittman Hepper married Dec Q, 1864, St. Saviour,1d,37.
On the same page Louisa Woollcott.

2 results on Family Search Pilot for Agnes Hepper...1602 burial and 1655 birth
the earliest is a burial in 1602 in Dulverton,Somerset....so the name is over 400 years old in England...what makes you think there is a German connection ?
50 surname Hepper on the 1881 census in England ...none in Wales

The reason I thought at the time he was from Germany was in the 1871 Census there was a John Hepper married to a Sarah and he came from Germany originally as did his dad!!she came from Lambeth and as my father came from London I just thought it might have been a relative!! they had 4 children at the time called Elizabeth,Frederick,Ada and Charles.
I then  found a William Henry Hepper born in 1872 in Lambeth with the same parents and was at the time following that route but think I will pursue another one now!!

It looks at present that the family that we've given you is the right one,however you need to back this up.I would advise getting Agnes' birth cert. just to make sure.
