Thomas Bain died 1910
« on: Monday 28 March 11 10:40 BST (UK) »
Any help would be appreciated.  I am trying to discover something about Thomas Bain born 11 March 1854 and died in Galashiels on 13 June 1910.  The death certificate gives the cause as "shock following internal injuries - the result of a railway accident; he died within a few hours of the accident.

I cannot find anything about a railway accident in that area in June 1910.  Any clues or suggestions?

Thanks in hopeful anticipation

Hello

Welcome to Rootschat.
A polite query? -or 2.

1.  Do you have an RCE (Register of Corrected Entry )for the death entry -  was there one?  Does it give any other info.

I'd have thought a death entry like that would have had an RCE attached.

Was your Thomas born in Gala?  If so, should this query not be on the Selkirkshire board?

Regards,   Steve  :)

black sheep railway index -

http://www.blacksheepindex.co.uk/

thomas bain NBR(north british railway?) platelayer galashiels 1910

"official and newspaper reports of railwaymen and women concerning  accidents , retirements , presentations etc."

looks like it's £8(incl. P & P) to order a report
not sure if that would be the official report or a newspaper one  :-\

Many thanks for your help everyone.  Looks like the Black Sheep Index (which I did not know about) may resolve my query.
