I used to cycle east from Hedon through Patrington to the coastal village of Tunstall to go swimming in the sea.  Hollym, near Withernsea on the coast, is another village south of Tunstall.

The Preston referred to is a village next door to and north of Hedon - I mentioned I lived in Hedon and although that was the postal address, I lived just on the boundaries of the Hedon Church Parish and the Preston Church Parish .... the church parish I lived in was actually Preston parish.

Familysearch is only a guide though and not that accurate and not to be relied on as the only source ...it's given me the run around and sent me down the wrong path a few times...I always cross reference now.

Many thanks to all who have joined in the search 
Altho I had found the 1871 & 1881 census records, I did not have the 1851 census for Patrington that Treetotal provided.  That seems a very real possibility as being the right one!
I also think that keyboard86 has perhaps found the marriage record - altho I am not sure where Hotham is - can anyone enlighten me?  I do not see it on the map of the area that I have here.
That August 14 date is the one I have had for a while............ Is it possible to look at the record to see if the bride's parents are Thomas & Sarah per the 1851 census?
Family records say that William died on May 15, 1877 - and that Elizabeth died in Jan of 1896 - both in Hedon, I think.
