Llangwig marriage - Rees
« on: Wednesday 30 March 11 13:25 BST (UK) »
I have found details of a marriage for Phillip Rees  to a Jennet Rees at Llangwig on 24th Nov 1821 , but although it says the witnesses are named, it doesn’t actually give their names . Would anyone be able to find out any futher info on this, or point me in the right direction? I think this is the marriage for my husband's great great great grandfather and any futher info might help confirm it.
Thanks
Beryl

the archives in Cardiff & Swansea hold copies of the registers, and both will supply copies for a small cost.

Beryl,

Have a copy of the Parish marriage record. If you send me your e.mail via Private Message can forward image. Otherwise the witnesses appear to be

H L (?) Morgan
John Harries

Neither easy to read

Thanks very much for that, its great to have it. I was puzzled why Phillip and Jennet shoud have had their children baptised in Pant Teg, Alltwen independent chapel but were married in Llangwig, but I realise that until 1837 marriages had to be in the established church so this all ties in. I shall now try and find some connection with the witnesses.
