William Atkins of Thatcham
« on: Friday 01 April 11 08:15 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the birth of a William Atkins c.1765. When he married Ann Stream in 1785 at Moulsford it was noted that he came from Thatcham. I have not been able to find any information from Thatcham and am wondering if there was an Atkins family there or whether he was just working there or perhaps had a settlement certificate.
Thanks
Julia

Thankyou for your help. This William is a definite candidate. However I still need to eliminate a possible William in Thatcham to increase the possibility that this is the right William.
I would be happier if William had named any of his children Thomas or Mary. However he opted for Abraham, William, Sarah, John and Ann. Perhaps he and his wife preferred to choose names rather than go with the traditional naming patterns, but it doesn't help!!
Thankyou again
Julia
