Samuel Dack ? Death

Samuel Dack Born 1917 Northumberland I believe contracted Meningitis  on-board ship and is buried in Dunkirk sometime around 1954.  He was either in Merchant or Royal Navy.  I cannot find anything on Ancestry Site can anyone help me please.

I've had a look at the GRO Naval Officer and Ratings deaths index 1939-1948 but there's no entry for him in either.

If he was in the Merchant Marine, you may have to make a visit to the National Archives at Kew to see if a record for him can be found there.

Thank you Dawn, I followed that link which refered me to find my past, I have checked it out - looks like a possibility but need to register to see info, i have just signed up with ancestry, do you know if there is another way to see this info?

You could also try a visit to Birmingham Central Library.

They have a full set of the GRO indices on microfiche, it would only cost you the fare/transport to have a look through all the possible types of overseas death indices.
