PARKINSON in Uckfield 1800-01
« on: Tuesday 05 April 11 02:20 BST (UK) »
Anne CLARKE was born in Buxted in 1773. On 19 Feb 1800 she married William Standway PARKINSON, a Captain in the Royal Navy, at St Andrews Holborn, London.

A daughter Blanche Elizabeth was born 13 Dec 1802 and baptised at Christchurch, Hampshire on 12 Apr 1803. Another daughter Ruth Mary was baptised at Christchurch, Hampshire on 24 Oct 1804. The children after that were all baptised at Boughton under Blean in Kent.

When Ruth Mary PARKINSON married Henry STREET in 1843, the newspaper notice said she was the third daughter of WSP. This would make Blanche Elizabeth the second daughter going on dates.

Have had no luck in finding the first daughter, who would have been born late 1800, either in London or Hampshire. As she was the first born she may have been taken back to her mother's parish for baptism.

Although Anne PARKINSON was born in Buxted, her mother by 1800, was living in Uckfield, and so was wondering if the new baby wasn't baptised there.

Does anyone have access to the Uckfield PRs that could have a look please. Sorry have no christian names for the child.

Thanks

Thanks for that, it does look like it could be her.

If it is her she must have died before 1810 as there was another Ann born then in Boughton Under Blean. She also died as there was another Ann born in 1818 at Boughton Under Blean.

Any sign of a burial at Uckfield or Buxted.
