Can anyone help me identify this badge?
« on: Wednesday 06 April 11 17:10 BST (UK) »
No scan available, I'm afraid...

We think this is European:  a cap badge or a shoulder title.  The device is a crowned lion rampant, holding an axe. The crown appears to be three pointed.

The attachment to the uniform/cap is by two threaded rods, which presumably had nuts to complete the attachment.

Have any of you goodly folk any idea what it might be, or point me in the right direction to find out?

No idea on date: the badge is brass or similar.  It may possibly be WW2.
