The men in the header were both found guilty of Horse Stealing from Mrs Blades of Lincolnshire, England, in 1844 and were sent to Van Diemens Land, now Tasmania.

I have already researched these mens histories and am very interested to make contact with any living descendants. (already have a few). Photos of descendants of either man would be very much appreciated.

John Budd (Jack) Gray had several children by Frances "Fanny" Dowlen/Dowling in Tasmania before moving to Geelong, Victoria after winning his ticket of freedom. He died in Geelong in 1868.

Elias Boss had children by Frances Bonney and remained in Tasmania where he died in 1919.
