Hi,
Before about 1973 Irish addresses in the countryside were made up of Townland (a small administrative area), Parish, Post Town and County. The McCrossans' address would have been Killyclogher, Cappagh, Omagh, Tyrone. Cappa seems to be a misspelling of the parish.
I can also find nine children born to your couple in Ireland.

Nice to see people are interested in my family!

Gerald MacCrossan was my grandfather and he always said that he was the thirteenth of fifteen. As you say Sarah Barron states that she had 14 children. I think that my grandfather had included the child that she had "adopted".

As far as I can ascertain from the original records the family is as follows: you will note that I am short of one child.

Charles Albert born 23 September 1865 at Lisanelly [sic]; Omagh district: emigrated to USA, lived in various parts; died in California 23 September 1945 - California Death Index. [married but dsp] He was a telegraphist.

Catherine who ran her own tailoring business was born in Killybrack 14 April 1867 and died at 129 Main Street, Cambuslang. u/m buried lair 3082 Westburn cemetery

Mary born 6.6.1869, Killybrack, died Derry, aged 19.

Jane born 22 .9.1870, Killybrack, probable death Derry 1888.

Sarah born 11.7.1872,  died Railway Terrace, Omagh 13.7.1884, buried Killyclogher beside Charles Barron, her maternal grandfather.

John born 6.3.1874, Railway Terr., Omagh died 14.2. 1960 LKS. He was a "Turf Commission Agent" - buried Westburn Cemetery.

Patrick Joseph - known as Joseph - born 1.1.1876 McGaughey's Terrace Omagh; died 26.10.1891, Wellshot Buildings, Silverbanks; buried lair 17 Westburn Cemetery.

Bridget born 12.1.1878 died 10.6.1885, Railway Terrace, Omagh, same grave as Charles Barron, in Killyclogher

Hugh born 28.11.1879, Railway Terrace, Omagh died 13 May 1950 Law Hospital, Carluke

Mary Ann born 3.7.1881, RT, O died 14.2.1890, Wellshot etc; buried Lair 17, etc.

Gerald Louis [not Lewis] - correct in baptism record - 31 August 1885, RT,O died 25.2.1961, St. Rule, Church Road, Leven, Fife; [not Cambuslang as in some online trees - I know - I was there!!!] buried Scoonie Cemetery

Elizabeth Frances [Lila] born 2.4.1887, Ferguson Street, Derry died in 1963 in Cambuslang and was buried in Lair 3082, Westburn cemetery.

Mary Josephine [May] born 20.10.1889, Wellshot Buildings, etc., died 1974 in Cambuslang, buried lair 3082 Westburn Cemetery etc.

As you can see thee is a gap of four years between Mary Ann and my grandfather. There is a possible Pauline in Jan quarter of 1884.

The last three in the family were teachers

Hugh was a trained Master Baker and Confectioner. Everyone loved his cakes!

What are your interests in the family?

Hope you can give me some information!

Good hunting

Helenor [Geraldine Barron Jones]
