No 1841 For Linton Kent??
« on: Saturday 23 April 05 20:35 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an 1841 for this place please?
I am looking for the YOUNG family. The only ones in the family I know of would be:

Father, head: John Young (wife may be Ann)
child,    son   : John Thomas YOUNG born 1832 Linton Kent.

Thankyou for any help.

Hi Shash,
I've had a good look through the 1841 census of Linton for you, there is one family that could be yours, although I'm not 100% certain the name is Young:
ref HO107 459-13 folio 10, Linton
John Y...... age 40 ag lab
Mary do age 40
John do age 10
Clive (unclear) do age 4
Mariah do age 1
all born in county
If you send me a personal message with your home e-mail, I'll send though a copy of the page, and you can make your own mind up. Just in case you weren't aware, Maidstone union workhouse was in Linton, so if the above isn't your family, then your John may have been born in the workhouse, then moved on elsewhere.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Wow, Carol. I think it's him at 10 years of age! I am very surprised that someone - YOU - would even take the time to look for the family for me.
I want to thank you very very much.
I like their daughter's name - Clive - LOL. It must be very difficult to read the old census records. Oh, I wonder if it was Olive?

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
Once again, thank you very much. Now I must figure out how I send you my email privately. keep your eyes open for it.
Bye for now.
ShasP.S. I am so excited!
