OWER John - death 1837-1838 ** COMPLETED**
« on: Friday 15 April 11 09:44 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for a record of the death  of John OWER weaver or beamer from Perth.
The date for the death registration should be between  May 1837 & April 1838

I'm pretty sure of these dates because he is recoded as deceased in the birth register for his daughter Margaret Black OWER born 13 Mar 1838

However I cannot find the death registration for Perthshire or any other county
John was married in 1824 & fathered children regularly until 1837. So he probably wasn't more than about 55 when he died.

In the death registration for one of his children many years later his occupation is  recorded as  power-loom beamer. If this is true then he may have been working in a mill in another county when he died

In the databases the surname OWER is often mis-transcribed as OWEN.  I have searched for John OWEN but not luck there either

Any leads would be much appreciated

Verrry nice!  :) :) :)

This may well be my man
My only reservation is that no relative is recorded - why would that be if he had a wife and 5 children?

And what a fantastic link!
I'll be ferreting around in that database for hours

Thanks from Down Under
