John Clack m. 1825 at Faringdon?
« on: Saturday 16 April 11 08:06 BST (UK) »
Take pity on me please.... ::)

It is some years since I researched my Clack family, but I have a note saying that John Clack m. Ann Henbury on 20 Feb 1825 at Faringdon?
I recently saw that some other researchers on Ancestry had given Ann's surname as Kimbrey?

Could some kind soul please confirm for me who John married?
 ???

I know I saw a PR of his marriage somewhere.....

Thank you!

Oh dear, so the debate is still open, as the original handwriting could have been Henbury or a variation of Kembray/Kimbrey/Kimbury/Kimbery/Kembry?
Although it is more likely to be Henbury, as there is an 'n' in it...but it could just be another attempt to write Kembrey......

Many thanks for looking her up!

Oh wonderful!
That is the information I have entered on my own PR  transcriptions database, but wished to be sure.

In 1841, a James Hembury is with John and Ann Clack and in 1851 there is an older James ?Kimbrey, who is listed as a widowed father-in-law, from Langford.

Are there Kimbreys or Henburys at Langford perhaps?

Also, there is an entry on IGI saying that an Ann Kimbrey was born at Whitney in abt 1805?
Are there Kimbreys/Henburys at Whitney?

So may questions...so many grey hairs!

My maiden name was KIMBREY and these are my ancestors

The name was originally CAMBREY and James (a brother of my 3 x gt grandfather) was baptised at Langford 03 October  1768 son of William & Joanna (nee BALL) CAMBREY

James married Elizabeth WOODDRUFF 19 March 1796 at Faringdon

They had 4 daughters
Mary 1798 who married George NOBES
Sarah 1800 who married Thomas EDGINGTON
Martha 1803 who married James ALBROUGH/ELBOROUGH
Ann 1805 who married John CLACK

James was buried at Clanfield 12 August 1851

Another link in the chain!
 ;D

My Clack relatives came from Clanfield, but I had never thought to look for Cambrey/Kimbreys in the Clanfield PRs, as I thought Ann's surname was Henbury.

Were James and Elizabeth's children born at Whitney or elsewhere?

Thank you so much for this info!  8)

Hi

I was very interested to read your posts.  Thanks for all the information.... I am connected to James Kimbrey through John Clack and Ann Kimbrey? who married in 1825 so if I am correct we would have  a connection through James .

John and Ann's son Oliver  and  Noah came to Austalia and I have am researching the Clacks for a while ...now look like I have another link in the chain.

Cheran :) :)
