thanks Norrie
one would have thought that the Kirk pictured would have a cemetery at least although a quick search has lots of people died at Lassodie i could find nothing about burials there except one.

I have always wondered what happened to the people in the graves buried in Lassodie,In the 1800s Lassodie was a thriving wee village and I was told from a farmer that his Greatgrandfather dug quite a few graves at the far end of Lassodie where the pub was, Not as far as the pub probably where the church was. The old pub eventually became a motorbike garage owned by Martin Hainey..so what happened to the graves.destroyed no doubt. It seems to past means nothing to the moneymen

First I should say that I do not know about this particular place, but I notice that your photo shows a Free Church. When the Free Church of Scotland was formed in 1843, new church buildings began to be erected, but it was quite usual for burials to continue in the original Church of Scotland graveyard. There was no problem with this and the people who had joined the Free Church would have had family graves in the old kirkyard. Some of the Free kirks did not have a graveyard.

Graham.

"I have always wondered what happened to the people in the graves buried in Lassodie"

They were probably reinterred in Beath Cemetry.
