Passenger look up (Budd)
« on: Tuesday 19 April 11 19:30 BST (UK) »
Hello again. This time I am hoping for some help looking for the Budd family going out to Cape Town South Africa.
I can see William (b 1874) Alice and William jr  (b 1900) on the 1901 census but not on 1911. They had 9 children but think most must have been born in SA but hoping to find at least one or two more on the ship.

Thank you
Buddy

On 28/07/1902 a Mr W Budd, aged 28 and Married sailed from Southampton to South Africa, Cape on board the Galician. He was described as a Ganger.

On 06/06/1903 a Mrs A Budd, aged 32, a Master W Budd, aged 3, a Master F Budd, aged 2 and a Master J Budd, aged 1 sailed (together) from Southampton to South Africa, Cape on board the Braemar Castle. GF

Thanks so much Glen, once again Rootschat does not disappoint.

This information really fits the bill. William worked on the railways and went out to SA for that reason, a 'ganger' sounds like someone who was part of a railway gang.
