1841/1851 Bideford, Devon lookup - GRIFFEY

Hi,

I was hoping someone may be able to look up the 1841 and 1851 census for the following family:

William Griffey head b. 1783 Bideford, Devon occ Plumber
Elizabeth Griffey wife b. 1782 Bideford, Devon
James Griffey b. 1819 Bideford, Devon
William Perryman Griffey b. 1822 Bideford, Devon
Thomas Griffey b. 1824 Bideford, Devon

The younger boys married around the mid 1840's in Bideford and William Griffey died there in 1853 - so hopefully they will pop up in the census

Fabulous  They are all related to my William Perryman Griffey - by 1851 he had moved to Bristol and I have his census there.

I just hope now to find them in 1841

Hi Debbi,

I would love to know where the Perryman middle name comes from as the family tends to use maiden names as middle names occasionally. I have yet to find Perryman in my tree but the name is passed on at least 2 generations so one would assume that the name is important to someone!!

William Perryman Griffey's (b. 1822 Bideford, Devon) parent's were William Griffey (b. 1783 Bideford, Devon) and Elizabeth Clarke (b. 1782 Bideford) - interestingly Clark has been passed on as a middle name for a few generations too 

his grandparents on his father's side were Richard Griffey (b. 1749 Bideford, Devon) and Jane Phillips (b. abt 1750) I have yet to find his grandparent's on his mother's side so maybe the Perryman name originates from there?
