Hi again,

I found the October wedding of John and Ellen.  It would seem her name before marriage was also Croucher so maybe thats why you were unable to find her.
It is hard to find Ellen with the middle name of May for her childhood.  I did find however, a Ellen whose parents are Charles and Ellen living at 23 Westgate Road, Faversham and the Father Charles was also born at Charing, Kent which is where you said John was born.  So wondered if Charles was Johns uncle? Just in case you havent got these details for the 1891 census it goes:-
Charles Croucher Head     26  born Charing   Labourer (cant read rest)
Ellen                                        27          Shoebury Dressmaker
William                                       5         Faversham
Harry                                          3          "
Ellen                                           1          "

Unlike John Lewis J Croucher,   Ellen May is a common name.  Probably the only sure way to get the right person is to buy their marriage certificate.
