Thomas Rees
« on: Tuesday 26 April 11 02:55 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the DEATH of Thomas Rees.  I have a Rhondda Urban District Council Interment notice, for Llethrddu Cemetary, but cannot read the exact date.  date of death is given as 22 Dec.?
and it was issued on the 24? 1901.  I am looking for the name of his father.  THomas was my great grand-dad.   His wife was Sarah, and she susbequently married James Squire.  These two latter are buried in Trealaw cemetary.  Thomas was born c. 1846. and was 68 when he died.
I cannot find him in FMBD.   the grave marker is U219.    One of his children was Benjamin John.
Any help would  be appreciated.

Hi April Betty

Have read and re-read your post and if I have understood correctly then looking at the birth of Thomas Rees given as  c 1846 and he was 68 when he died then it would mean his death would be c 1914 - however there is also mention of Sarah his wife who went onto marry James Squire - according to Free BMD Sarah Rees and James Squire Sept 1905 Pontypridd Vol 11a Pg 932  - so if James and Sarah married in 1905 then that would mean Thomas must have died before this date and that either the birth of Thomas is wrong or his age at death - does that make sense or have I just confused myself!

Does the census hold any clues? Have you tried to contact the cemetery?

Regards

Z :)
