If I had to place a bet on this, I wouldn't dismiss either of these for Christopher's baptism.

Christening, 29th October 1786
Christopher Harrison
Parents : John and Mary Harrison
Catterick, Yorkshire

Christening, 26th October 1790
Christopher Harrison
Mother's name : Lucy Harrison
Catterick, Yorkshire

Catterick isn't much more than a couple of miles from Langthorne, so worthy of consideration.

Welcome to RootsChat !  :) :)

Kind regards,

But added to that, if they adhered to the naming pattern - which mine from this area did during this time scale :

First born son ~ named after the father's father.
Second born daughter ~ named after the father's mother.

It could have been either of them.

Yes this is right, thankyou, but the births are now a big question, and verifying is going to be hard. They both died in the typhus fever, I have a posting requesting their cemetery inscription details as this may answer a few questions for me. many thanks for your time and helping me.

Hello again,

I'll reply on here, so as not to put anyone else off answering on the other thread, which now I know it's there - I'll keep an eye on.

The thing that's bothering me - the 1841 claims that Christopher was an Agricultural Labourer. On the strength of that I'm not sure whether he or Elizabeth will have a headstone. As you can see by the link below, the graveyard is very small - in my experience only the more affluent member's of the community could afford such things.

Providing it isn't pouring down on Saturday, I'll try to have a look for you.

Fingers crossed,

Pels.
