What month did 1851 Census take place.
« on: Saturday 30 April 11 20:03 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

Have a Isabella Otter on ST. Benedicts Lane, Lincoln, a few doors down from two of my Walker family, not there in 1861 but, her family are. Only one other Isabella Otter in Lincolnshire, transcribed wrong, down as Isabella Allen, from Bristol.

Seems a big coincidence that a Isabella Otter should marry a William Walker & sail to Australia. I do have a marriage,

William Walker
Isabella Otter
marry 18th May 1847 at West Deeping.

No info of where they are from & no info of who their fathers are.

The Ships List.
Ship:- Catherine, sailing Feb 1851 from Liverpool.
Passenger list has:-
William Walker, 26, Bourne.
Isabella Walker, nee Otter, wife.
Thomas Walker, 26, Bourne.
Charlott? Walker, wife.
Singles quarters, George Walker, 19, Bourne. George returns, gets married & goes back to Australia.

Can't find any info on William or Thomas coming from Bourne, west Deeping is close to Bourne, where the marriage took place & Bourne is only 30 miles, straight road to Lincoln.

Does anyone know exactly when the 1851 Census took place.  :-\

Regards,

Spatts.

:D Thank you Oldtimer, thats good news, so it could be a possibility that Isabella Otter could have married a William Walker related to a family member.

Thanks for your time oldtimer, appreciate it.

Spatts.  :)

As well as Isabella OTTER 13 in Lincoln, the 1841 census has

Isabella OTTER 12 in West Deeping

 ... this one. http://tinyurl.com/5r8vc43

In 1830, her mother married William BRYAN, and it was in his house that she was to be found in 1841.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi Oldtimer,

Thanks for the marriage info.

I was looking at the Lincolnshire Marriages Index that Geoff told me about some time back.

Have the marriage on there as the 18 May 1847 @ West Deeping, is Stamford close by??

I've had a few marriages take place in villages that I thought were wrong but, they are in the same parish or are a sub parish.

Thanks for your time.

Spatts.
