Please im looking for a baptism for Samuel Sanders born abt 1787 in Belper
and marriage and family.
His parents are Samuel and Elizabeth if possible a baptism and marriage for them also.

1787 in the Belper area.

1.  If you do not have a Bpt., how do you know the names of his parents?

2.  Who did he marry?

3.  Can you give a Census reference for him?

4.  Did he have children, if so when and where?

thankyou for answering. a kind lady who is a volunteer at the archives
gave me the info. i was able to tell her from the family bible his son and who he married and where, and she kindly went from there and gave me the info.
here is i quote her info
Research from dudley
i went nto the archives today and couldnt frin a baptism or a record of his birth
but found his marriage
issac saunders born netherton 1853 from family bible
married mary jane waples st thomas dudley 24th nmay 1874 dudley
issac seniour married st johns church dudley to mary maria edwards
issacs father horsenail maker her father rueben was a scythe smith.
issac senior gives his place of birth as belper derbyshire
and on issac seniors marriage cert it gives father as samuel horsenail maker.
i have photo copies of issac snr showing issac jnr from the archives.

On this Census Isaac Senior give is age as 50, so born abt 1831 per 1861 Census .

There is a possible marriage Samuel Sanders = Millicent Walters 25.12.1820 Duffield Derbyshire.  Marriages took place in Duffield because there was no Church in Belper prior to 1825 where a
marriage could take place.

A possible birth for Samuel Saunders 26th August 1784 Bpt. 9th September 1784 Ripley-Pentrich NC  Father Samuel Saunders.

In your original post you did state  that the Parents of Samuel born abt 1787 were
Samuel & Elizabeth - was this information from the Family Bible? Is there any indication that the
family could have been of an Independent Faith?

Ive checked out Millicent Walters born 18 jan 1774 pentrich derby to Samuel
saunders born 1784 ripley pentrich nc ripley derby are these the same place.
also samuel snr married to elizabeth berisford 29 dec 1785 duffield. is duffield a place where they were born ? Then I found a Samuel saunders abt 1745 of
brailsford derby, is it connected , so many different places.

 i found Samuel and Elizabeth on the igi index
with Samuel born 26th dec 1787 belper derby.

The above item you found on the IGI, is not from actual Church Registers, it is a Patron Submitted
item and should be treated with caution.

When using the IGI, at the bottom of an "Individual Result Page", you will see Source.  If you
click on this it will tell you which church records the information is from.

Prior to 1825 Church of England B M D's took place in Duffield Derbyshire, with some Bpts taking
place in St. John's Chapel Belper however these results are included with the Duffield Registers.

Independent Bpts took place at Belper & Heage Independent, I would say that Ripley Pentrich NC
would be too far, however they may have been living in that area prior to moving to Belper.
It is not safe to assume that because children were Bpt in a particular church they actually lived
in that place.  For instance, the C of E church at Duffield covered a huge area so although bpt there
you could have been born in Belper, Holbrook, Milford, Shottle etc.

It may be a good idea to post some more of the information you have in the Bible.

you found the right family on previous post. the info i have came from dudley archives when i was looking for issac samuel saunders jnr son.samuel came up as being the father of issac on his marriage cert, in st thomas of dudley.also the gro index confirmed it.the family bible stops with issac, unfortunately.
