National Library of Ireland (Kildare St., Dublin)
« on: Friday 06 May 11 14:27 BST (UK) »
The National Library have announced revised opening hours and a new system for a set timetable for delivery of requested items, plus a new system to pre-order items.  These came into effect on the 3rd May.

The manuscript room and main reading rooms are mentioned as part of these changes, but there is no specific detail on the room for RC records or Tithes. I've emailed them to ask for clarification.

(thx to Gatsby1960 for the heads up..)

summary of response to my query to the NLI about RC & Tithe records :

The new procedures do not apply to the parish registers on microfilm - apparently these are now available on self-service access during NLI opening hours.

The self service option does not currently apply to the Tithe Applotment microfilms, but
there are plans to do so in the next few weeks
