Passenger Lists to Buenos Aries
« on: Saturday 07 May 11 23:13 BST (UK) »
Hi There,
I have been searching for some weeks now for a particular family who went to Argentina, I have scrolled through thousands of pages but without success.
I wonder if anyone could advise if there is a simple way to do this search.
The Name of the person Im looking for is:-
John Wright b 1836 in Nottinghamshire England... in 1881 I still find him living with his family in Barton upon Irwell Lancashire...he was a Joiner and Builder and I understand he went to "Parana Entre Rios Argentina" to work on the railway, could have been the building of it!. I know he went before 1890. and that he settled there.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers Maureen

For Ref.,  from the 181 Census - the family is:
John Wright 44
Caroline Wright 48
Caroline H. Wright 21
Annetta Wright 20
Thomas Wright 19
Percy Wright 17
John Wright 16
Belinda Wright 14
Amy G. Wright 11
Minnie Wright 10

In 1890 the following persons, all travelling to BA with (ie: on the same ship as) a  Percy WRIGHT - not to say they were a family group, but looks promising?
WRIGHT John   M 1890 Southampton
WRIGHT Wife F 1890 Southampton
WRIGHT Unknown (Female)
WRIGHT Daughter
WRIGHT Daughter
WRIGHT Daughter
WRIGHT Infant
WRIGHT Infant
WRIGHT Percy

1895 Argentina Census
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0d3t/
Buenos Aires, Sección 16A,  Subdivisión Nr: 37
Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal
Carolina WRIGHT 62, Inglese, V?
Carolina Ana WRIGHT 35, Inglese , S
Belinda WRIGHT 29, Inglese, S
Juan? Guilliermo WRIGHT 7,  Argentina
Ana WRIGHT 2, Argentina
Ele----? Garl......? WRIGHT 1, Argentina (Eleanor Gertrudis?)

Image is faint in places but I beleive it indicates Caroline snr is Vuido (widowed) and the 2 daughters as Soltera (single).

Cheers

Dear Ambly I have just found your reply and Im absoloutly delighted, what fantastic information, Im so very very grateful, I would like to look at the passenger list for myself, what ship would I be looking for?
And thank you for the census information, I tried to have a look at it but I think your eyesight must be better than mine,I even used a magnify glass, but as you said the print is very faint.
 Thank you again.
