Missing wife & daughter in 1861

If you are tired of looking for your own ancestor--care to look for a couple of mine please 


Henry Thomas Larmuth/Larmouth b 1832 Finsbury London--son of
Alfred William & Jane nee Wright.

According to Family Search he married twice--Martha in 1852 in London and Maria in London in 1895. There is a probate dated 1915 leaving a small sum to Maria.

1851 Thomas is with parents
1861 a visitor [Married] to married sister Jane Ann Sacker

1871 with wife Martha who appears [from census] to be 15 years the elder and b in Bedfordshire. Plus Harriett -daughter-- b 1856 in Kent

1881 Still with Martha in Paddington[FindMyPast shows name as Harmouth
1891  Still with Martha-Lambeth
1901 Now with Maria in Battersea-she appears as 15 years younger than him.
1911  With Maria in Clapton.

I simply cannot find either Martha or daughter Harriett in the 1861 and run out of where else to look!!
FindMyPast-- Ancestry --census --tried Google with all the names--censuses with various surname spellings -

Also --although there is apparently 2 marriages in london they don't [or i can't find them!!} appear in the Ancestry 1754-1921 marriages.
Both marriages for Thomas henry are in the 1837 marriages but of course no partner's name.

I have been hunting down the Larmouth/Larmuth family for some time now and am trying to tidy up loose ends. poli

Not sure what you mean by this. The marriages are on FreeBMD and the partners names are there

I am always amazed at how very quickly other Rootschatters here find something in a short time whereas i have been blundering around without results 

davidft--interestingly , when i looked at your findings on the census--by the side near their names were the words --"Christchurch District Riding school-- Thomas had a brother who was a riding instructer.

Hello groom--where did you find the 1st wife's maiden name please, because thinking i had slipped up when looking at Free BMD i went back to look again and all i could see for Thomas Henry-- April quarter 1852 was this--  poli

Strange. I found it on FindMyPast, but Ancestry has the same as Freebmd.

I think there must be a mistake as Mary Ann Gathercoal's marriage took place in the Shoreditch registration district whereas Thomas Henry was married in London City.

Mary Ann Rebecca Gathercoal married April quarter 1852, Shoreditch to either David Felce or John Richardson. IC 257

Thanks for the latest replies--it's odd isn't it how you find out more info as you follow up completely different areas--i have just literally found about an insolvency court case re Thomas Henry on the internet --return here and find that i've been given some more clues to look at --many thanks and will look into it all in greater depth tomorrow --  poli
