Matthew married to Hanora... Completed and thank you for all the help

Shane..you quoted in my previous thread
Mathew Geraghty     married 1st quarter of 1885 3/313 which you said had no ref to Hanora
well i have just found out that my great grandad Matthew was married twice just thought maybe you could give me the wife's name on this quote,

Unless Shane can I don't know a way to cross reference without the second name
With only the Volume and Page number you will see every woman on the same page and still not know which is correct - getting the certificate will be definitive!

as myluck! said you need a clue to find a good cross-match - e.g. a first or surname

I had a search of the index using common first and surnames just to show what happens - and found three potential matches, all with the same references... no way to tell which is which, just that all of these brides appear on the same register page as Mathew and any one of them could have married him (and there could be other possibilities)  :

  Name: Mathew Geraghty
  District: Roscommon
  Event type: Marriage
  Qtr / Year: Jan-Mar 1885
  Volume : 3 / Page : 313

  Name1: Kate Cormican

  Name2: Sarah Carey

  Name3: Jane Finneran

etc

as a one-off experiment, I checked all the Jan-Mar 1885 marriages in the Roscommon district and believe I can suggest the 8 names that appear on the page - i.e. 4 marriages ...

Thank you both for your reply and help, I got the marriage cert for Mathew Geraghty and Honoria( thats how its spelt on the cert) and yes he was a widower when her married her.....just when i thought I had sorted it...lol. :) but thanks a million
