So what I am looking for is the marriage of Sidney and Olive.
We all know the two were under the same roof. If they were married, this is what I am looking for.
The date of marriage, census' will not give the date of marriage.
Manitoba Vital Stats do not seem to have the date of marriage.
Where else could the marriage be recorded?
I did not see any attachment with pictures regarding Olive.
Please show me how or what this public tree is, I do not have ancestry unless I go to the public library.

There is a birth in the Manitoba Vital Statistics database for at least one of the children. He was born Lewis Roy Irwin on 2 Nov 1899 in Winnipeg - mother's name listed Olive Irwin. It appears to have been a delayed registration since the registration date listed was 1955. You might want to consider ordering a copy of the birth registration to confirm his father's name (if it's listed) - it would cost $10 when you include the information from the database.

I found an article in the Winnipeg Free Press from 1929 regarding Sidney's death. It indicated he had a heart attack and was found dead on a sidewalk near his home. It also said he was living with his son. I've been able to confirm he was living with Walter at that time through another newspaper article about Walter from later in 1929 which had the same address. There was no mention of Olive or any other children.

You may want to consider ordering a copy of Sidney's military file. There may be some mention in it of money being taken from his salary or pension to go to his children by Olive. You can order it at the Library and Archives Canada website and the cost is dependent on the size of the file.

When you google "Sidney Masters, Teulon, MB" you will find references to this family on the message boards of a couple of other genealogy sites.  These messages are from 2006 and 2007 so maybe you could make contact with some other descendants through these sites and possibly find answers to your questions.

With regard to an earlier post when I made reference to photos of the gravemarker being attached, I meant these photos are attached to the entry for Olive M. Irwin on the public tree on Ancestry.  Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Susan,
yes these are my relatives. We've been in contact and am always trying to research further. we are now back to 1772 and earlier.
Olives' marriage date is still a mystery. I have never seen a public tree on ancestry (.ca or .com).
I have access to library edition ancestry.

There are currently 3 family trees for Sidney/Sydney John Masters in the Public Member Trees section of Ancestry. Only one of them includes information about Olive.

oh ok there is a 'section' called public member trees.
I will see if I can find this in the library ancestry edition.
Hopefully there will be more info on Olive.

I'm so interested in your post as my dad's uncle was Sidney Masters from Donhead St. Mary, Wiltshire.  My grandfather was Hedley Masters whose birth certificate showed his dad as Eli Masters and mom Harriet Benjafield but he seemed to have lived with his grandfather and grandmother in Stalbridge, Dorset.  I have only been able to go back to William Pond Masters.  Are you researching Olive Irwin or Sidney Masters?  Reeny (nee Masters)

Yes we are on the same page, cuz!
IRWINS I can only seem to go back to 1844 in Canada.
Olives' granparents and father are all from Ireland.
Hedley and Sidney John I have been able to go to 1772 in St. Marys.
I have been unable to determine three choices of people to go back further.

(sorry my copy and paste did not work with the blue highlight)

Hi Jacquie,
Winnipeg Free Press obits. 1929
I had time to go to the library and try to access Ancestry library edition.
Unfortunately I cannot access anything with regard to Manitoba.
I did not go downtown to the main branch but found thru the local branch that our microfilm of Manitoba Free Press does not go back to 1929; only back to 1931.
I am going to email the genealogist at our downtown library to see if their database or microfilms are current or have been revised to earlier dates for the Winnipeg Free Press.
If not, I may ask for more help, how?, I do not know.

To change the subject, as far as I understand,
to obtain Olives' death registration where her mother and father are listed, this will cost me $50.
Do you know of any other factors wher I can obtain this registration less expensive?
According to family she is buried in Tuelon, Manitoba in 1953(?)
Thanks,
Razzy
