cockerill / Harries
« on: Thursday 19 May 11 01:08 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I'm looking for any info on the cockerill family of Gayton. There is a Phebe Cockerill born 1831, father is Joseph mother Sarah Harries. I believe his father maybe John born 1770. Any added info on them would be great.
Also did the Harries family come from Gayton also?

I see from the 1841 census that both of the Josephs' are married to a Sarah.

How did you establish that it was your Joseph who married Sarah Harries?

These are almost certainly the parents of Phoebe

Joseph COCKERILL of Blisworth, bachelor and Sarah BATTISON of this parish who married 17th Feb 1823 at Brafield on the Green.

Phoebe was baptised 28th Aug 1831 in Blisworth

I'm not entirely sure how i came up with sarah harries. I think it was the marriage i found and just assumed that that was the right sarah.
Now looking at the record you have i think that you must be right. Thank you so much for putting me on the right track :D

Phebe Cockerill married, William Addington in December, 1850, in Northampton.

I was wondering if this William Addington was born October 21, 1821?  If so, he is one of my ancestors and I'd love any other information you have on him please.

Thank you!

Heather

Hi Heather
No sorry :'( my William Addington was born 1830 in Holcot. I had a look on my tree and couldn't see another William with dates matching yours.
If I can help with any Addington from Holcot info you might need I'll be happy to help.
