Baptism and Marriage -Elsham and Kelsey
« on: Friday 20 May 11 11:27 BST (UK) »
Hi, could someone please do a lookup or 2 for me as I am unable to get to Lincs RO.

Bapt: Thomas Langton bn abt 1816 Elsham. parents unknown as yet.

Marr: to Mary Berridge I think, possibly South kelsey as that is where eldest child was born about 1838.  Marriage doesn't show on BMD so I'm guessing it was pre 1837.

Very much appreciated.

many thanks

Julie

Hi Julie,

A fairly new website - Lincs to the Past - has many parish registers online.
I couldn't find the marriage, but this is a possible baptism for Thomas - Elsham, Thomas Lankton, baptised 7 April 1816 by John and Ann Lankton - http://www.rootschat.com/links/0dah/

thank you for that.  I had been told about that website, but I just can't use it properly for some reason.

I know what you mean Julie - it isn't easy is it?

There's a thread going on rootschat with some hints on how to use the site - http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,529052.0.html

Couldn't find a Langton marriage in the Westwold deanery 1813-1837, but did find this in the Yarborough deanery 1813-1837:

Thomas LANGTON and Mary SADLER, 1824 Elsham

Sorry it took so long to reply.  many thanks for your help.  I will look at this when I can, I'm recovering from an op and not really taking too much interest in my tree at the moment.  Once again, many thanks.
