Afraid there are no Mead bapts at all anywhere near that time in Burford. A couple of earlier events are for a Mead family from Eynsham.

Thank you for looking. :)

He gives his p.o.b as Burford in 1851/61, but Santon, Oxfordshire in 1871.

I cannot find Santon.  But perhaps it's STANTON Harcourt.

Is there anyone who can check Stanton Harcourt or even Eynsham, for Abraham or Edwin Mead baptisms, please.

Thanks.

EDIT.  Found his 1852 marriage in Hughenden.  Gives fathers name as John MEADS.  And Abraham appears as a Widower. :o

Also a possibilty for Abraham/Edwin baptism at Chipping Norton, or Taynton, to John & Mary Maids.

John Maids married Mary Edwards 1799, Chipping Norton.   John Meads is of the parish of TAYNTON(Nr.Burford).

Sorry to keep flying about Oxfordshire, but this chap is fast becoming a brickwall.

There is an Abraham MEADES baptised at Taynton-in 1732  s William !

There are a few earlier entries at Taynton but nothing after 1738.

I looked at several of the adjoining parishes but no luck.

Perhaps they were in Gloucestershire for a while ?

Thanks Kimbrey.

He did give his p.o.b as Burford, Gloucester in one census.  So perhaps you could be right.

Many thanks for looking for me. ;)
