thomas and blanche m burns
« on: Saturday 21 May 11 21:28 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Can anyone offer info on the marriage or deaths of, Thomas Burns born 1888 in Huddersfield England, and Blanche M Burns, born 1889, maiden name unknown. They were probably married around the Boston Massachusetts area as this was where Thomas emigrated to and lived. They were living in Boston Massachusetts from at least 1937 to 1942. Also any info on their deaths would be great. Thomas was single in 1910, so the marriage would be between 1910 and 1937. Both deaths were after April 1942.
Thanks for any info,
Yorkshire Lad.

Unfortunately there are no marriage records available online that I am aware of for the time frame you require.  The Massachusetts BMD Index covers 1841 - 1910.

If you have an exact date of birth for your Thomas and he died after 1962 then you would be able to check the SSDI Index

This site will give you what is available on Census and some other records:_

According to the WW1 and 2 Drafts the birth date was 12 November 1888 - no death shows on the SSDI.

The WW1 Draft states he had a wife but gives no name. It was dated June 5 th 1917. Difficult to read but it looks as if they were in Billerica. Boston. Massachusetts.

WW2 Draft indicates he was a Doctor Thomas Burns living at 227 Lincoln Street. Newton Highlands. Middlesex. Massachusetts,
Self Employed at 419 Boylston Street. Boston. Suffolk. Massachusetts. Wife Blanche M Burns of the same address.

Both drafts state born Huddersfield.

This could be the couple in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts in 1930 Selkirk Road.

Syma Burns - appears as Thomas on the image and aged 41 yrs. Doctor. Physio Therapy. Immigrated 1910. Marries at 23 years. WW Veteran.
Blanche M Burns aged 40. Born England. Married at 24 years. Clerk. Office.
Daughter 3 months old. Born Massachusetts. There is a line empty between the entries for Thomas and Blanche and the daughter.

Hello Yorkshire Lad,

The reason for asking is that I suspected Thomas was married twice.  This was thjs first marriage 2 January 1912 in Winthorp. Massachusetts to Eleanor Lees. Daughter of Joseph H Lees and Eleanor Clark. Thomas was a masseur and Eleanor a lady's maid.
