The original Middleton Hall was built in the 17th century and was rebuilt between 1793-5. It was burnt down and demolished in 1931. Also see

Census

In 1841 the Hall was owned by Edward Abadam born Kingston Jamaica circa 1776, his son Edward was living with him and his daughter Matilda and 9 servants.

In 1851 i presume Edward senior had died and Edward junior had taken ownership, now married to a Louisa (nee Taylor). In the house was also their 5 children, 2 of Louisa's sisters, Louisa's niece and 12 servants.

In 1861 Edward still occupies the Hall, his occupation is magistrate

In 1871 still owned by same family
