William Theodore Hampson. Completed Thanks
« on: Wednesday 25 May 11 14:49 BST (UK) »
W.T.H was born circa 1892. Family verbal history has that my grandfather was born in British Columbia on a trip back to England. He shows up in 1893 and his sister in 1888, but not Uncle Theo. The parents were William Spencer Hampson and Emma Louisa Hampson nee Heywood. William Spencer was born in Longton Lanc in 1859, but W.T.H. is not showing up at OPC there. Emma was a Kiwi. They could be anywhere in UK :P. Pretty tall order but it amazes me the "miracles" that happen on this site. Forward thanks, especially if it turns into a head banging exercise.

Hi - what exactly are you looking for (his birth?).  When and where does he turn up in 1893 (& same for sister in 1888, and what was her name/age/birthplace)? Do you have (any of) the family in any census - if so where & when?

When you say born in BC on trip back to England - back from where?

Looking for the birth of William Theordore Hampson. They were a NZ family that spent six years abroad. During this time 3 children were born. Two in British Columbia. These I have found. Part of the trip was spent in the UK. Verbal history says England. William Theodore Hampson was born circa 1892. This is taken from his age at death and entering the USA in 1921. The family turn up in the Canadian 1891 census. Other children with them would have been Ethel May(May)1884 NZ, Margaret Emma(Daisy)1885 NZ,Martin Heywood1887 NZ, and Lillian Edith(Lily)1888 B.C.  Canada They were in NZ in1901.In 1881 they were not a family . Parents William Spencer born 1859 Longton Lanc and Emma Louisa 1857 Christchurch NZ

Hi ...

It may be worth your while, contacting the Family History Department at Victoria Museum.
I found them very helpful , when I made enquiries a few years ago. I have to admit though, that I was there in person ...Wonderful place....

They may charge you a small fee, but you have so much info on his parentage, that it should not take them long. Just google for the address....or go to the Canada Forum on this site, someone may be able to help
