Hi,

Would some kind SKS be able to assist me please.   I've found out that my uncle -  Basil John Saunders BELCHER was born in the 1st qtr. 1919 in Swansea (Vol.11a Page.1704).     Ideally I would like to ascertain his birth details but because of privacy concerns I prefer to get his baptism.

Unfortunately I don't know the name of the  church,  but if its anything to go by his brother was born in Crowbach Rd, Cockett, Swansea in 1915, although baptised in Reading, Berks.

I believe the family worked in Wales for a few years frequently returning, before moving back to Reading.

If any is able to do a baptism lookup for me I would be very grateful.

Yes you have the correct death reg. and the DoB ties in with the info I've obtained.
Could I please ask where you got the actual birth date from?

I forgot ask - does it say or do you know where he was born exactly?

think the date comes from the registration of his death. Date of birth shows on the index from 1969 or so.

I'm very appreciative of both of you for your help.

However I'm a little confused.
The birth registration I found doesn't give any dates other than the qtr.
and year of birth,  and so curious to know where do you get the birth date
from?   Are these records available on-line to view and if so, where do I go to see them.

if you have access to one of the online databases that have the GRO death index, Ancestry, Findmypast & others, look for his death registration in 1982 & it gives his date of birth in the index itself, but possibly not the transcription. You may need to click for further info.

This won't be on FreeBmd, as their transcription of the death index isn't complete.
