1841/51 census please.
« on: Thursday 02 June 11 17:48 BST (UK) »

I have a relative born in 1842, the person who registered the birth is a Matilda England of Machell Street, Hull

I don't know if this person is a relative or not so I'd appreciate it if someone could find her on either or both 1841 & 51 census

thanks in advance
Bee

Hello Bee

There were only two Matilda Englands' , in Yorkshire on 1841/1851 census

One in Otley, one in Hemsworth . Both unmarried on both census.

What was the name/family of the child born 1842, perhaps we can make a connection

Thanks Jeannie,

I have the child, Sarah Longhorn and her parents and grandparents on all the census' and haven't come across Matilda anywhere else, and Otley and Hemsworth don't crop up anywhere, so maybe she was just the local  'midwife'. I think I'll leave her alone.

thanks for your time
