Hello, I'm the great-grandson of Emily, Frank Scarrow Bennison's daughter. I'd always heard Frank was born in Sri Lanka, but I might have been mistaken. Very interesting, this.

Hmm, William Bennison... well, there can't be that many Bennisons, can they? I've never heard the name, outside that side of the family.

Joseph Bennison and Hannah Scarrow are my  GGGGrandparents.

Frank Scarrow Bennison was baptised August 23rd 1826. His parents Joseph and Emily Ann Bennison nee Lee. They had 6 children  : Hannah Eliza (Lillie)1869 Ceylon, Alice Maud 1872 Ceylon, Joseph James lee (Lee) 1875 Ceylon, Frank Scarrow 1876 Chester, Percy John 1878 Chester, Helen Muriel 1886 Frankby, Chester.

I believe Emily Ann Lee met Joseph Bennison at her brothers marriage Thomas Lee to Ann Elizabeth Bennison in 1863.

I haven't found any William in this family.

Ah, thanks, Libby. I suppose that makes us fourth cousins (they're my great-great-great-grandparents also).
