CORNALY or CORNALLY
« on: Sunday 05 June 11 11:49 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I'm looking for anyone that has a Augustin Cornaly or Cornally in their family tree. From hearsay he was a french sailor who jumped ship and came to Australia where he settled at Windeyer, New South Wales.

Cheers,
Deb :)

Hi Deb,
He was my great, great (I thinks it's only 2 greats) grandfather.  As far as we know he was a sailor and did jump ship in Australia.
How is he connected to you?
Jess

Hi Jess,
Thanks for the reply!! I didn't think I would ever get one!!
He is my husband's great grandfather but we haven't had much luck in tracking down much information about him. We visited the local church in Windeyer, NSW where he built the wooden seats and pews in that church and they are testament of his skills because they are still in good condition but much used as you would expect.
Cheers,
Debbie

HI Debbie,
Is your husband from Australia? As far as I know we aren't aware of family elsewhere in the world from him.
I know my dad has a photo of him as an old man. He had an amazing face, very wizened and a massive beard! If you give me your email address ill see if I can get a copy of it for you.
Jess

Hi Jess
Yes, my husband is from Australia.
If you have a photo of him that would be greatly appreciated. His wife from memory was Emily Jane Thomas but not a hundred percent sure on this. Finding it hard to track down any information on this branch of the family tree. My email address is dgwalker@tpg.com.au
Cheers, Debbie
