searching for Ellen McCrory in adulthood

hi folks hope someone can help me!
have been trying to trace my great aunt Ellen McCrory, parents Margaret (Adair) and Robert McCrory ,her birth certificate has her as Ellen McCroary born on 21.4.1879  in Irvine, which was found with the help of a Rootschatter (thanx again),
I have her 1891 Census aged aged 11 scholar , living with her parents still in Irvine, but there is no mention of her in subsequent Census !
I have looked for marraiges, census and deaths but couldnt find her ;-(
however there is a grave at Knadgerhill with a family of Curran which states Ellen McCrorie diied 7.3.1956 aged 65 (which could be her) she is buried with her husband Alex Curran died 18.10.1957 aged 70.
can anyone out there help me please?

well I just viewed the  "Curran and McCrorie" marraige in Kelso and its not her !
thought it was a wee bit strange, as they had lived in Irvine and died there, but hey you just never know!
so my search continues for their marraige !

The combination of these names is unusual Elinga. There was only one marriage showing on SP for a couple with these names. The only other possibility is for you to check the death cert of the Ellen McCrory Curran with the details showing on the stone (ie. death in 1956, aged 65). The death shows on SP in Ayrshire (not Irvine).

The parents' details from the death cert will either be the ones you are looking for Ellen, or they will be for the Ellen that you now have on the marriage cert marrying Alexander Curran.

I have that one also!
but unfortuately that Ellen is the one who was married in Kelso and not mine ;-(
thanks anyway, dont know where to go now.
maybe I have to wait until I am in Scotland next time and make a better physical search.

Does look like that Elinga  :-\

I think you can though discount that grave at Knadgerhill if you have now confirmed the details for that Ellen....
