So sorry I didn't acknowledge all these kind greetings on Thursday - it's just that my computer was not functioning for nearly 4 days.  And although I've diligently replied to my personal messages, I've only just spotted this jolly little thread.
It's wonderful to be 58 years old, of course, but I did feel rather ancient until I discovered in my newspaper of 28th April that Saddam Hussein celebrated his 68th birthday the same day - I just hope he didn't get to blow his candles out as quickly (or maybe as slowly) as I managed mine...
